Prerequisite for this class is Quilt Beginnings class or equivalent skills required. The first in a series of three classes that will increase your skills. We will create six blocks that can be turned into a sampler quilt, or using your imagination, create a new quilt top. Accurate piecing, paper piecing and raw edge applique techniques will be demonstrated. Blocks you will create will complement those taught in Next steps 1 (pictured here) - Next steps 2 picture to follow! Sunday March 2, 16, 23,30, April 6,13 10 am - Noon (6X2 hours classes) $150 or sign up for a specific block class $40 Supplies needed: An assortment of coordinating fabrics for blocks, background fabric for sashing and borders, amount dependent on size of quilt top made.

In this class we will use german short rows to create a colourwork effect. However, you only need to deal with a single colour at a time. German short rows are a great way to do shaping on sweaters, so a good option for future projects too. We will touch on how to knit backwards for students who want to learn something extra.

Evening Drop in Crochet/Knitting Drop in anytime between 4-7:30pm to enjoy the company of others while you knit or crochet. While these are not instructional classes, there will be someone from Addies available to provide some assistance. Register in advance to guarantee your space. Fees from these sessions will be donated to local Cochrane Charities.

Based on a log cabin pattern, these cute little creatures are quick and easy. Margery will lead this hands on class, suitable for beginners. Bring your machine and sewing kit, or call to rent one in advance. (9:30-noon, Monday March 31). Class fee includes kit for 2 chicks

We have had lots of requests for another beginner quilting class- and not on Sundays. So here’s your chance to enjoy an evening class. Margery is teaching on Thursdays starting March 27 This is a beginner skill-builder class for those who would like to learn or refresh knowledge of basics. We will discuss quilting fabrics, threads, and tools to help you measure and cut accurately using a rotary cutter, self-healing mat and quilting rulers. You will learn to piece with a 1/4" foot. This project can be quilted on your domestic machine. Bring your sewing machine or rent a store machine March 27, April 3, April 17, April 24 6:15 PM - 9:15 PM (4X 3 hour classes).
