In this class you will learn how to cast on, knit and purl, increase and decrease stitches and cast off. Students will create two dishcloths. Supplies are included in the class fee. Jan 23, 30 & Feb 6 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Coose your colour of yarn. Emmer is a taupe, Dahlia is coral, Flytrap is green and Hollyhock is grey.

A 2 colour hat pattern will be used in this class. We will talk about dominant colours, floats, chart reading as well as overall hat construction techniques. The Latvian Braid technique will also be used in this class. Feb 27, Mar 5 & 19| 6:60pm - 8:30pm

In this class you will learn the beginning concepts of free motion quilting. We will talk about needles, tensioning, sewing speed, threads and marking tools. You will practice some movements on your own machines and will leave with some next steps in mind. You will need to bring your machine, free motion foot, standard piecing thread a couple of spare bobbins, a pen and paper for notes.

Learn to create your own jellyroll rug. You are limited only by your imagination. 2-1/2″ batting strips are covered with jelly roll strips and are then sewn together to create a gorgeous rug. You can make your rug any shape or size you desire. Supplies for class- 40-42 strips (2.5 in), 1.25m of batting . Batting seam tape. Size 14-18 Jeans needle, Thread. Walking foot for your machine, extension table and chopstick or purchase one of the Clover Fabric Tube Maker. Pattern purchase required. Best press strongly advised. If you have not done colour work in knitting for a while, and would like a refresher, this is the class for you. We will create a sample square using 2 colours to review how to manage the 2 yarns, how carry the yarn (floats) behind the work and ensure your final work will size correctly. Feb 20 | 6:30 - 8:30pm

If you've never used a sewing machine or if you simply need a refresher, this class will build your sewing confidence. This class introduces you to the anatomy of the sewing machine and how to get started, including winding a bobbin, threading the machine, stitch selection, and sewing seams.

Prerequisite for this class is Quilt Beginnings class or equivalent skills required. The first in a series of three classes that will increase your skills. We will create six blocks that can be turned into a sampler quilt, or using your imagination, create a new quilt top. Accurate piecing, paper piecing and raw edge applique techniques will be demonstrated. Blocks you will create are: sawtooth, flying geese, waves, log cabin, snail's trail and a foundation paper pieced fan.
