Beginner Crochet In this class you will learn crochet basics: casting on, chain, single, double and triple crochet, . You will leave the session with a sample, and some references and be ready to start your "journey" Wednesday Jan 15 or Wednesday Feb 5, 6:30-8:30 (1 class, followed by lots of practice and drop in sessions )

In this class you will learn how to cast on, knit and purl, increase and decrease stitches and cast off. Students will create two slippers or a dishcloth. Supplies are included in the class fee. January 20, 27, Feb 3. Select either 3pm - 5 pm or 6:30-8:30 pm.

Learn to create your own jellyroll rug. You are limited only by your imagination. 2-1/2 in batting strips are covered with jelly roll strips and are then sewn together to create a gorgeous rug. You can make your rug any shape or size you desire. Supplies for class- 40-42 strips (2.5 in), 1.25m of batting . Batting seam tape. Size 14-18 Jeans needle, Thread. Walking foot for your machine, extension table and chopstick or purchase one of the Clover Fabric Tube Maker. Pattern purchase required. Best press strongly advised. Prerequisite for this class is Quilt Beginnings class or equivalent skills required. The first in a series of three classes that will increase your skills. We will create six blocks that can be turned into a sampler quilt, or using your imagination, create a new quilt top. Accurate piecing, paper piecing and raw edge applique techniques will be demonstrated. Blocks you will create will complement those taught in Next steps 1 (pictured here) - Next steps 2 picture to follow! In this class we will use german short rows to create a colourwork effect. However, you only need to deal with a single colour at a time. German short rows are a great way to do shaping on sweaters, so a good option for future projects too. We will touch on how to knit backwards for students who want to learn something extra.

Start with simple piecing, cut out some triangles, rearrange them and the magic appears. This table runner pattern gives you a bonus smaller runner with the same amount of work and uses up all your scraps. Make one for yourself and another for a gift. Pattern available for purchase ahead of class. Suitable for students with basic quilting knowledge (cutting, quarter inch seams, piecing accurately) and a machine in good working order. While these are not instructional classes, there will be someone from Addies available to provide some assistance. Register in advance to guarantee your space. Join us for a demo every other Monday morning 9:30 to 11. This second bloc loc demo will include handouts and/or samples. Kits will be available for purchase. Want to spend the day with us? Following the pattern created by our instructor, you will learn techniques to build an interesting quilt from jeans of different colours and stages of wear . The grout can be fabric or homespun. Class is presented as a 1 day in-person workshop with a prep session the week prior so that you have all the required materials to get started. Pattern and stabilizers will be available for purchase prior to class. Prep session is currently scheduled on Feb1. Students will be contacted in advance with details to confirm preference for zoom or in person attendance.
