Level-up your piecing skills! Nest those seams. Line up those points. Learn to make your blocks practically perfect in this series of 12 classes. You will learn to cut and piece nine different 20" x 20" blocks. Classes 10 and 11 will be all about the many quilting designs you can do with your walking foot. In the 12th class, we will assemble the quilted blocks using a quilt-as-you-go technique. The quilt finishes at 60" x 60" and makes a great throw for a couch. This class begins Oct 24 and runs until Apr 2023.

There is no real pattern for creating a jelly roll rug. You are limited only by your imagination. 2-1/2″ batting strips are covered with jelly roll strips and are then sewn together to create a gorgeous rug. You can make your rug any shape or size you desire. Min for class- 40-42 strips (2.5 in), 1.25m of batting . Batting seam tape. Size 14-18 Jeans needle, Thread. Let's build on the basic skills from Know your machine - Level I. This class includes a refresher on setting-up and maintaining your machine. Choose from three small projects (pillow case, notions basket, tote bag) and learn proper cutting and pinning, seams and backstitching. If you've never used a sewing machine or if you simply need a refresher, this class will build your sewing confidence. This class introduces you to the anatomy of the sewing machine and how to get started, including winding a bobbin, threading the machine, stitch selection, and sewing seams.

Have you ever made a ?One Block Wonder?? To make one you place 6 layers of the same fabric on top of each other lining up the patterns exactly, and then cut them into triangles then sew each group of 6 triangles together into a hexagon. It's so much fun! We've had some requests to learn this technique- with and without a panel as a starter. Please sign up to let us know if you would like to take this class in the new year.

This is a beginner skill-builder class for those who have never attempted a quilt but would like to learn the basics. Choose a lap or crib size quilt. We will discuss quilting tools and thread, stitch length and tension. You will learn how to measure accurately and cut fabric using a rotary cutter, self-healing mat and quilting rulers. You will learn to piece with a 1/4" foot and quilt with a walking foot. The project finishes at 54" square or smaller allowing you to quilt it yourself on your domestic sewing machine. The first class is in lecture/demo format. The five remaining classes are hands on instruction - bring your sewing machine.

Have you wondered how to make Thrumm mittens? In this class we will learn how to knit a mitten and how to create and incorporate the Thrumms. We will start with cast on and the cuff. We wll move into the thumb gusset and using the thrumms in the second class. The final class will be for cast off and creating the thumb itself. Sedona Trails is an 11-row quilt alternating curved blocks and rows of straight-pieced blocks. The Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve Mini Ruler makes piecing curves quick and easy (no pins required)! Black& White or Colour Kits provided monthly. We will ensure you are comfortable using the Quick Curve Ruler MIni before we start the "real" blocks, by asking you to attend a 2 hour workshop where you will make a small sample.
