Textured Toque

Do you have a spare ball of worsted weight yarn, and are looking for a quick project?  Already know how to knit and purl, but would you like to learn how to read charts, or how to do a provisional cast on?  This class will teach you both of these techniques.  We will be working in the round, with a transition either to double pointed needles, or using a magic loop as we reach the crown of the hat.

Materials required:
220 yards of worsted weight yarn (gauge 18sts + 32 rows = 4")
16" 3.5mm circular needle
16" 4mm circular needle
Set of 4mm double pointed needles
Spare yarn for cast on (different colour from hat)
crochet hook (3.5 - 4.0mm)
Darning needle
Stitch marker

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: provisional cast on, reading a chart, working in the round.

Instructor Bio: Lisa has been knitting since she was a child and quilting for 20 years. Her mother and both grandmothers have passed down knowledge and the love for both crafts. Although her grandmother used a treadle machine and a quilting frame, Lisa loves to use her machine for both piecing and quilting. Lisa has been teaching knitting and quilting at Addie?s for the past 5 years and loves to see people develop their skills. Lisa finds both knitting and quilting therapeutic activities and likes to keep busy by creating lovely Items. She donates or gifts many of her projects to see the joy they bring to others.
