Free Motion Beginnings -November 2025


In this class you will learn the beginning concepts of free motion quilting.  We will talk about needles, tensioning, sewing speed, threads and marking tools.  You will practice some movements on your own machines and will leave with some next steps in mind.  You will need to bring your machine, free motion foot, standard piecing thread a couple of spare bobbins, a pen and paper for notes.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Comfortable with use of machine. Bring your manual if unsure :)
Materials Included: Kit with some sample threads, quilt sandwiches and a marking pen included.
Requirements: Sewing machine with the ability to drop the feed dogs in good working order Free motion foot (installed) Standard piecing thread A couple of spare bobbins Pen and paper for notes
