Quilt Beginnings

This is a beginner skill-builder class for those who have never attempted a quilt but would like to learn the basics. Choose a lap or crib size quilt. We will discuss quilting tools and thread, stitch length and tension. You will learn how to measure accurately and cut fabric using a rotary cutter, self-healing mat and quilting rulers. You will learn to piece with a 1/4" foot and quilt with a walking foot. The project finishes at 54" square or smaller allowing you to quilt it yourself on your domestic sewing machine. The first class is in lecture/demo format. The five remaining classes are hands on instruction - bring your sewing machine.
