
Prerequisite for this class is Quilt Beginnings class or equivalent skills required. The first in a series of three classes that will increase your skills. We will create six blocks that can be turned into a sampler quilt, or using your imagination, create a new quilt top. Accurate piecing, paper piecing and raw edge applique techniques will be demonstrated. Blocks you will create will complement those taught in Next steps 1 (pictured here) - Next steps 2 picture to follow! In this class we will use german short rows to create a colourwork effect. However, you only need to deal with a single colour at a time. German short rows are a great way to do shaping on sweaters, so a good option for future projects too. We will touch on how to knit backwards for students who want to learn something extra.
