Quilt Beginnings
This is a beginner skill-builder class for those who have never attempted a quilt but would like to learn the basics. Choose a lap or crib size quilt. We will discuss quilting tools and thread, stitch length and tension. You will learn how to measure accurately and cut fabric using a rotary cutter, self-healing mat and quilting rulers. You will learn to piece with a 1/4" foot and quilt with a walking foot. The project finishes at 54" square or smaller allowing you to quilt it yourself on your domestic sewing machine. The first class is in lecture format. The five remaining classes are hands on instruction - bring your sewing machine.
