These follow our very successful Monday morning classes and cater to our stitchers who cannot join during the day. Projects are designed to refresh quilting and sewing skills while working on a project that can be completed (or almost completed) in a single class. Schedule and details to follow. Please add your name to the waitlist for a particular evening, or email questions4addies@shaw.ca for details. Class fee is $25 plus kit fee as required.
This hat is nice and cozy as it has two layers created at the same time with a technique called double knitting. This makes the hat completely reversible and you don’t need to worry about catching floats. In the first class, we will set up the hat and learn the double knitting technique. The second class will cover how to read a chart, and how to switch colours while following the chart. The final class will show you how to perform a decrease, keeping the inside and outside colours separated.
Prerequisite for this class is Quilt Beginnings class or equivalent skills. This class starts with planning your quilt and review of fabric requirements. Six blocks will be created to showcase different techniques. These can be turned into a sampler quilt, or you can chose to repeat your favorites to create your own quilt top. Accurate piecing, freezer paper piecing and raw edge applique techniques will be demonstrated. Blocks include log cabin, cross my mind, sawtooth, snail's trail, Stripped Windmill and Iowa Star. Sunday afternoons Nov 9, 16, 23, 30, Dec 14, and January 4 2pm- 4 pm (6X2 hours classes) Supplies needed: An assortment of coordinating fabrics for blocks, background fabric for sashing and borders, amount dependent on size of quilt top made.
